Page 361 of the Second Edition of Curious About Cannabis contains an erroneous answer to Pop Quiz question 3.
The Pop Quiz question reads: "Approximately how many milligrams of THC are in 1 gallon of Cannabis infused glycerin tincture that contains 10 mg/g THC?"
The listed answer is "~454mg" - this is simply wrong and was likely an old answer to a previous question (the pop quizzes have gone through several iterations)
To answer this question, one must simply do several things:
1) Convert 1 gallon to mL
2) Convert 10mg/g THC to mg/mL
3) Multiply the mg/mL THC value by the number of mL in 1 gallon
1) 1 gallon = 3785.41 mL
2) The density of glycerine is 1.26g/mL; 10mg/g THC = 12.6 mg/mL THC in glycerine
3) 12.6 mg/mL THC in glycerine x 3785.41 mL (1 gallon) = 47,696.166 mg of THC
We are committed to Continuous Improvement.
We strive to deliver some of the most reliable, high-quality Cannabis and cannabinoid education available. But sometimes we mess up - either because we relied on bad data, had an inadequate understanding of a topic, or because new data has emerged that challenges the way we thought previously. This blog is meant to serve as a repository for errors and corrections that we identify so that we can all remain accountable and strive toward better understandings. It is also our hope that this blog will help those that purchase previous editions of the Curious About Cannabis book that want to review issues that we have corrected without having to buy an entirely new edition of the book (unless you want to).
